Our StoryWe are a dedicated structural and civil engineering team based in both Lowburn, Central Otago and Wanaka. First established in 2013 by Carl Meyer, the company has completed many successful projects large and small. In 2017 Mark Cruden joined the company and Meyer Cruden Engineering was formed.

Our Team
Carl Meyer
Director / Senior Engineer - Structural CPEng, BE (Hons), CMEngNZ Carl gained valuable work experience in New Zealand and Australia before starting Meyer Engineering in 2013. Having now worked on thousands of projects Carl understands the value in providing practical innovative construction solutions. Carl's project portfolio is wide and varied, ranging from high end residential and commercial projects to building alterations, peer reviews, and seismic assessments.
Carl leads the team with honesty, transparency and integrity which are personality traits that flow through to his design work and client communication. Katie Lindsay
Business Manager Katie is a multi-skilled manager with a passion for people and business. Katie has been with Meyer Cruden Engineering since 2015 and enjoys making sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
Katie looks after everything from the day-to-day running of the offices in Cromwell and Wanaka, project scheduling, client and contractor relationship management, administration and invoicing as well as making sure all members of staff are well supported with their HR, health and safety and well-being needs. Engineering Geologist BAppSc, PMEG Olly is an Engineering Geologist with work experience in a variety of infrastructural, commercial, and residential projects throughout New Zealand and Australia.
Joining the team in June 2020, Olly is involved in providing practical solutions for geotechnical, stormwater and wastewater issues on a range of projects. Olly is based in our Wanaka office. Nichola Greaves
Civil Engineer CPEng, CMEngNZ Nichola has extensive work history as an infrastructure engineer with over ten years three waters experience working in both the private and public sector.
Starting with us in March 2019, Nichola works alongside Mark Cruden from our Wanaka office undertaking a variety of civil design projects. Nichola is based in our Wanaka office. |
Mark Cruden
Director / Senior Engineer - Civil CPEng (Civil & Geotechnical), BEng (Hons), CMEngNZ Mark is a chartered Civil and Geotechnical Engineer with a wealth of experience in land development and transportation engineering. Originally from Scotland, Mark has practiced as an engineer in New Zealand since 2003.
Mark balances his time between local civil and geotechnical projects with providing specialist procurement, pavement and asset management advice at a national level to industry, local government and the NZTA. Mark currently chairs the National Technical Pavement Group, an industry group that works jointly with NZTA to develop national best practice in the area of pavement design and construction. Mark is a qualified NZTA tender evaluator. Locally Mark delivers stormwater, wastewater and geotechnical engineering solutions for projects ranging from individual house builds through to major subdivisions. Mark really enjoys the balance that this variety of work brings. Prior to joining the business Mark spent his early career in management roles with both Contracting and Consulting firms. This experience of designing and building infrastructure ensures that Mark is focussed on delivering practical, quality, cost efficient engineering solutions. Mark is based in our Wanaka office. Intermediate Engineer - Structural BEng, GMEngNZ Cameron joined the company in 2015 as a graduate of Canterbury University. Cameron is a highly valued member of the team.
Clients regularly comment on Cameron's approachable personality and for providing practicable build-able solutions. Nik Zhang
CAD Draughtsman Nik holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and Architecture from the University of Beijing as well as a Diploma in Engineering from the Ara Institute in Christchurch.
Nik enjoys using AutoCad and Revit and hopes his position will provide a solid understanding of New Zealand building standards. Nik is based in Christchurch. |
