Due to an increase in workload and requests from clients to expand our scope of services into broader land development we are looking for a Civil Engineer.

You would be working under the guidance of a senior Civil Engineer and would undertake civil design and construction monitoring for a range of three waters, roading and earthworks projects. You will work on projects from small to large, for private and public sector clients. 

We operate a flat structure and growth opportunities in this role will be significant

The position involves the following specific activities:

• Detailed civil design – earthworks, three waters and pavement design from first principles.

• Use of various civil design and modelling software packages such as HECRAS, HYDROCAD, Austpads and potentially 12D or CivilCAD.

• Preparation of tender and contract documents (NZS3910).

• Civil construction supervision and contract administration.

• Coordinating subcontractors and subconsultants.

• Report template development and updates.

• Design analysis worksheet data checking and updating.

• Health and safety participation including developing structured task analysis for certain work types, health and safety in design practice and development of associated documentation.

• General project administration including customer support (internal and external), drafting fee proposals, completing project timesheet entries, report writing, filing, etc;

What you will bring;

• NZ Diploma in Civil Engineering (or higher), or;

• NZ Diploma (or higher) in Surveying, and/or;

• Degree and Chartered Engineer candidates will also be considered with the role expanded to suit qualifications and experience.

• The ability to work in a small collaborative team environment;

• A positive attitude, excellent communication, and organisational skills;

• At least 2 years New Zealand based experience;

• Experience with 12D or similar civil design software;

• Attention to detail;
